We Created a VR Simulator for Remote Excavator Operation for Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.

The content was exhibited at "InterMat2018 Paris," held in France and one of the world's three largest heavy equipment exhibitions.
Over the six-day exhibition, visitors from around the world experienced remote excavator operation.

"5G networks," under consideration for practical use from 2020, will change the way we work.

With 5G networks, countries around the world will be connected over the internet without time lag, allowing excavator operators to control excavators remotely without going to the site.
With Kobelco Construction Machinery's "K-DIVE concept," which we created for this project, you can experience the future of work beyond 2020 in VR.

A full-scale VR experience using a motion seat, professional-grade controllers, and projection

To deliver a more realistic remote operation experience, this content uses a system in which the seat moves in sync with the excavator's movements in the simulator.
In addition, professional-grade lever controllers achieve operability close to that of a real excavator.

Images are projected onto the front, left, and right, providing a highly immersive remote operation simulator experience.
