Stories from the Sky: A New World Captured by Drone

Drones Are Actually "●●●"

A drone is a type of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
An "unmanned aerial vehicle" is an aircraft that flies without anyone on board.
It can be flown by remote control from the ground or by an autonomous program.
Drones are now used in many fields, including commerce, industry, hobbies, and video production, and you have probably seen plenty of drone footage in TV programs, music videos, and elsewhere.

Specific Licenses and Permits Are Required

Flying a drone requires licenses and permits depending on the flight area, altitude, weight, and purpose of use.
Licenses fall broadly into two categories:
"national certifications recognized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)" and "certifications obtainable at private drone schools."
The national certification itself comes in two classes: "First-Class Unmanned Aircraft Pilot" and "Second-Class Unmanned Aircraft Pilot."
Put simply, a First-Class license may permit flights under demanding conditions, such as wide-area flights, flights over densely populated areas, and night flights.
A Second-Class license has restrictions on flight range and conditions, and is mainly for flying in lower-risk environments.

The Possibilities of Drone Filming

Wide-area shooting
With a drone, you can capture wide landscapes and entire buildings from above, which is impossible from the ground.

High cost efficiency
Drones cost less to operate than helicopters or other aircraft,
so you can film on a tighter budget.

Flexible camera angles
Drones can shoot in places that are difficult for people to film, such as tight spaces and high places.
They can also change angle freely, allowing shots from unique perspectives.

High-quality footage
Some models carry high-performance cameras capable of shooting in 4K or even higher resolutions.
This makes it possible to capture high-quality footage.

Safer filming
Drones can film safely even in environments where shooting from the ground is difficult, such as hazardous locations and disaster sites.

Final Thoughts

Beyond video production, drones have a wide range of uses, including infrastructure inspection and land surveys.
World Area Networks Co., Ltd. has staff who hold the national "Second-Class Unmanned Aircraft Pilot" certification mentioned above.
Using drones, we offer a new kind of appeal unlike anything before.

*Please note that drone flights may require a certain amount of time (from a few days to a few weeks) for the various applications.
Thank you for your understanding.
