Social-Media-Worthy and Built to Draw Customers! Our Latest Projection Mapping Case Study

An "immersive experience" made possible by a small space
When people think of projection mapping, many imagine spectacular shows on large buildings or in public squares. Our project at a café called "Aruhi Mori no Naka," however, is the exact opposite.
It is a "high-density visual experience" that was possible precisely because the space is only a few dozen square meters.
In response to the owner's request for "a presentation that envelops guests in a quiet, magical space," we handled everything from spatial design and video planning to sound design as a single, unified plan. The result is a true "moment away from everyday life" in which visitors can forget their daily routine and become fully immersed.
Projection mapping design and creative intent
At this café, video is projected mainly onto the walls.
The content is an original animation that matches the café's concept of being "in the forest."
It is designed so that trees sway, small animals appear, and light slowly envelops the space.
By changing the presentation according to the time of day, we made sure that visitors can enjoy a new experience each time they return.
We also applied many technical solutions specific to video presentations in a confined space, such as the placement of projectors, projection distance, and distortion correction.

An experience of "the whole space" linked with sound
Sound is also part of the presentation, synchronized with the video. We installed several small speakers around the space to recreate birdsong, rustling leaves, and the sound of distant running water in three dimensions.
With video and sound working as one, the result is an immersive space experienced with all five senses.
Visitors have told us things like "It was a space where I lost track of time" and "It felt like being inside a story."

A smooth, high-quality experience made possible by end-to-end production
At World Area Networks, we provide one-stop service covering everything from planning and composition to video production, equipment selection and installation, and system design.
Because a single team handles everything from planning to production and installation, we can maintain the quality of the presentation while also optimizing cost and delivery time.
This one-stop approach is especially effective for "work that designs an entire space," like this project.

We created projection mapping for a café themed on the beauty and charm of nature.
The aim of this project was to recreate the rich atmosphere and charm of the forest inside the café, offering customers a relaxing space and an immersive experience. After detailed discussions with the café owner, we produced video content themed on forest landscapes and the changing seasons. Beautiful natural scenery, such as green trees, clear streams, and seasonal flowers, was turned into video and projected onto the café's walls and ceiling.
Projection mapping not only brings a natural atmosphere into the café but also makes it possible to change the mood according to the season and time of day. By offering a bright, lively forest scene during the day and a magical, romantic scene at night, we gave customers a variety of ways to enjoy the space.
This project gave the café's customers a sense of healing and calm, and a wonderful experience of feeling connected to nature.
It is also one of our project examples that enriched the atmosphere of the café and helped improve customer satisfaction and repeat visits.
